Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda is a popular destination for tourists, offering stunning landscapes and the chance to see mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Activities include gorilla trekking, golden monkey tracking, hiking and volcano climbing, visiting Dian Fossey’s grave, cultural experiences, bird watching, and photography. Gorilla trekking is the main attraction, and permits are required. Golden monkey tracking is also available, allowing visitors to observe endemic golden monkeys.

The park is home to the Virunga Mountains, where hikers can climb Mount Bisoke and Mount Karisimbi. The park also houses the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International, a renowned primatologist who dedicated her life to studying mountain gorillas.
